About
SAND is a photographic research project by Lukas Korschan for BOTTER, exploring the relationship between Caribbean nature, fashion and identity through a micro-to-macro study of sand grains sourced from Curaçao, the birthplace of Rushemy Botter, and captured under a microscope.
Drawing parallels between the intricate complexity of individual sand grains and the material, colour and cultural references embedded within BOTTER’s AW24 runway collection, the project became part of BOTTER and Atttd’s communication and was exhibited in Paris in May 2024 at Oddity Paris.

Contributions
Extended and visually translated Lukas Korschan’s research through curated image pairings between thousands of Paris Fashion Week backstage photographs and microscopic sand imagery, creating beautiful visual conections.
Developed motion sequences from microscopic sand stills to reveal hidden structures through shifting focal depths.
Developed the graphic design language, as well as imagery and space curation that gave life to the vernissage event in Paris. Worked on the communication system, including print layouts, digital invitations, posters, postcards, editorial materials, window vinyls and digital assets.
